Even as the COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for the global aviation industry, Qatar Airways continues to win accolades. The multiple award-winning airline has emerged as the world’s second best airline in the world in a survey by a US Travel and Leisure magazine.
According to this year’s World’s Best Awards survey, which was open for voting from January 11 through May 10, 2021, the readers of the ‘Travel + Leisure’ magazine voted Qatar Airways as the second best airline globally in ‘World’s Best Awards 2021’ survey. The World’s Best is a travel awards program run by Travel + Leisure and based on an annual reader survey. Singapore Airlines was voted as the best airline in the world.
Praising Qatar Airways, one of the readers of the magazine said, “Excellent crew, amazing food, it’s comfort on point,”. “It’s really my favorite airline,” said another frequent passenger, who added that “the seats — even in economy and of course in business — are comfortable. The food and entertainment always exceed expectations. I really appreciate all their COVID-19 protocols. All in all, they are a class act”.

Qatar Airways is on the award winning spree. July this year, Qatar Airways was named Airline of the Year 2021 by AirlineRatings. The airline had also clinched the Best Middle East Airline, Best Catering, and the Best Business Class awards.
Earlier in January this year, Qatar Airways became the first global airline to achieve the prestigious 5-Star Covid-19 Airline Safety Rating by international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax.
In March, the independent data from OAG reaffirmed Qatar Airways as the largest airline in the world in terms of Available Seat Kilometers (ASK), offering more global connectivity to its passengers than any other airline.
