Doha: Awsaj Academy, a member of Qatar Foundation, hosted a graduation ceremony to celebrate the 324 graduates of the Prime Programme Class of 2024.
The event, which took place at the Qatar National Convention Centre, brought together students, families, and faculty to honour the achievements and hard work of the graduates.
The Prime Programme is an evening initiative by Awsaj Academy designed to support high school students with learning difficulties in both public and private schools, with the goal of enriching their educational experience and guiding them toward lifelong success.
The ceremony, attended by Abeer Al Khalifa, Head of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation, marked a significant milestone for students. Mark Hughes, the Executive Director of Special Schools & SEN Services at Qatar Foundation, said: “It gives me great pleasure to congratulate our students as we celebrate their graduation from the Awsaj Academy Prime Programme.
“Their strong commitment and determination in achieving this significant milestone in their lives, after a long journey of striving to learn, progress, and realize their many gifts and talents, are truly commendable. Their hard work and perseverance led to this success.”
Remarking on the broader impact of the Prime Programme, Hughes said: “The role of the Prime Programme has not been limited to providing knowledge and skills, but has also extended to building our students’ self-confidence, belief in their abilities, and pride in their achievements.”
Iman Al Meer, one of the Prime Programme graduates, said: “I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the journey that has led us to this moment. For me, attending Awsaj Academy has been nothing short of transformative. It provided me with the opportunity to thrive in an environment that values individuality and fosters growth.”
“I learned not only academic subjects, but also invaluable life lessons,” she continued. “I learned the importance of resilience in the face of challenges, the power of collaboration, and the beauty of embracing diversity, understanding that our differences are our greatest strength.”
Al Meer expressed her deepest gratitude to her teachers at Awsaj Academy, saying: “I’d like to thank my teachers for believing in me, for giving me the tools to succeed, and for instilling in me a love for education that will last a lifetime.”
