Doha, Qatar: The oldest private higher education institution in the country - Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU), celebrated its 21st graduation ceremony, marking over two decades of academic excellence.
ARIU held its 21st graduation ceremony in partnership with the esteemed University of Derby which took place on June 9, and marked a momentous milestone for ARIU, emphasising its commitment to delivering top-tier university level education in the fields of international business, tourism management, and hospitality management.
Under the distinguished patronage of H E Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for the establishment of Qatar’s first private university, the ceremony brought together esteemed guests including university board members, ambassadors, faculty, staff, and proud parents to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the graduates and wish them success in their future endeavours.
The graduation ceremony served as a testament to the hard work and unwavering dedication of the graduating students, who represented diverse nationalities and backgrounds. Fifty students were awarded their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, reaffirming the excellence and rigorous academic standards upheld by ARIU and the University of Derby.
The degrees were awarded by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences at the University of Derby Professor Kamil Omoteso, Katara General Manager, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, and Dean of ARIU Professor Ivan Ninov.
H E Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani sent his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the graduates and their families for this significant achievement. He highlighted the outstanding educational opportunities provided to university students in Qatar. “Our beloved country, Qatar, continues to invest in developing the education sector and to providing its citizens with the skills and knowledge to enhance their ability to compete on a global level,” he said.
Professor Kamil Omoteso, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Business College, Law, and Social Sciences at the University of Derby, congratulated the graduates and emphasised the quality of education which they have received: “ Today is a day of celebration, but I would also like us to reflect upon the value of your outstanding achievements.”
