In the first phase there were two flights – one each to Kochi and Thiruvanthapuram. The Kochi flight left with 178 passengers on May 9 and the second flight left today with 181 passengers.
“Over two-thirds of the total repatriation registrations from Qatar are just for Kerala. It is therefore natural that there will be more flights for Kerala than for other states. We are pushing for more flights to other states in the coming week(s),” Embassy had tweeted on its official handle.
Many people from North and western Indian states were seen replying requesting for flights to their cities also. A few days earlier Ambassador had said over 44,000 people have already registered on the website.
