Nada Ali Al Thawadi, Director of Information Technology of National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), has said that the committee has taken many decisions to contain the spread of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, such as reducing daily working hours to four for those who are present at the workplace of the committee’s headquarters.
The attendance at the committee’s headquarters has been made only 20 percent in each department, she said. Nada Al Thawadi also said that the committee holds its meetings and training courses via Internet.
Speaking to Qatar TV, she pointed out that the National Human Rights Committee launched its hotline (8002222) to ensure providing integrated and continuous services.
The hotline number covers five languages and it helped serve many communities. The languages include Arabic, English and Urdu, she said. Al Thawadi said that committee’s has got a website and it provide many services, such as public enquiries, legal services, follow-up to the committee’s news, enquiries about bids and tenders, and follow-up and monitoring of human rights violation reports.
The launch of the hotline service comes to adhere to the policy of the National Human Rights Committee to achieve direct and permanent communication and interaction with all segments of the Qatari society, she added.
Al Thawadi pointed out that these measures is part of its approach it has taken by the committee since its foundation in 2002, with the aim of protecting and promoting human rights.
The call centre is the official and unified hotline that supports online services 24 hours a day. Companies, citizens, residents, and visitors can call at any time to enquire about all legal and advisory information and to file complaints.
