Tuganov guides Counselor to glory at QNB Doha Tour Show Jumping

DOHA: Seasoned Russian rider Vladimir Tuganov claimed the top prize at the QNB Doha Tour International Show Jumping Championship yesterday, with Counselor excelling on the penultimate day of the three-day gala at Qatar Equestrian Federation main arena in Al Rayyan. 

Tuganov faced little difficulty in winning QR37,500 for the Art 269.5, 150cm title as Counselor displayed a fine run to overcome the rivals, finishing the job in 58.62 seconds in the main contest f the penultimate day.
Danish rider Tina Lund, riding Con Cara finished the event in second place with a time of 60.71 seconds to confirm a cheque of QR30,000. Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah AlSharbatly who rode Wasabi finished the top three line-up with a time of 60.78 seconds. He took QR22,500 for the third position. 
In the Art 238.2.2, 145sm event, Turkey’s Omer Karaveli stood first after producing a flawless routine with Rabane De Sury to bag prize money of QR32,500. 
He completed the job in 63.38 seconds to edge out Danish rider Tina Lund, who came in second place with a time of 68.23 seconds, riding Carisma B. 
The experienced rider collected QR26,000 for the runner-up position while UAE’s Abdullah, riding AMS Catch Me earned QR19,500 after finishing in third place with a time of 70.45 seconds. 
The Art. 238.2.2, 135cm event saw Saudi Arabia’s Abdulrahman Al Rajhi stealing the show with a slick run with Bling Bling 2 to secure the top spot. Al Rajhi who took 34.75 seconds to win, walked away with a prize purse of QR12, 500. 
Norway’s Morten Alexander Djupvik, riding Wisecrack ended in second place after his run in 38.36 seconds while Broere Wing earned third place for Lujain Bin Essa of Kuwait who took 43.85 seconds. Djupvik walked away with QR10,000 while Essa got richer by QR7,500 
The three-day event will conclude today.
