Doha: Qatar received scattered rainfall in Corniche, Abu Samra and some other northern and central parts of the country. Ras Laffan, northeastern parts of the country witnessed hail with rain, according to Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).
QMD has forecast strong wind in most part of the country today causing low visibility. The temperature is expected to fall down significantly compared to previous days with 15 Celsius as minimum in Doha.
According to the QMD, scattered rainfall was witnessed in Abu Samra and some other parts of the country yesterday evening. “Moderate temperature during daytime and partly cloudy with slight dust to blowing dust at places and cold by night is expected on Tuesday,” said QMD in a report posted on its website.
Strong northwesterly wind expected to begin affecting the country from Monday night and will continue throughout the National Sport Day until today evening.
Strong northwesterly wind expected to start affecting the country ranging in speed between 18 to 25 kt gusting to 35 kt in some areas. Windy condition expected to lessen today evening whereas marine warnings continue until tomorrow.
Windy condition is expected to cause blowing dust and low visibility especially in open areas. In addition, a noticeable drop in temperature is expected compared to previous days with a maximum temperature of 22 Celsius and minimum 15 Celsius in Doha.
Rainfall and hail were reported from northern areas of the country. Qatar Meteorology Department posted videos on their social media handles that showed rain and hail from Ras Laffan, Khartiyat and Umm Salal – the Northeastern parts of Qatar.
