Tokyo stocks close higher for third straight day

Tokyo: Tokyo stocks closed higher for a third consecutive day on Monday as a weak yen boosted Japanese exporters.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.56 percent, or 127.65 points, to end at 22,938.73, while the broader Topix index was up 0.53 percent, or 9.61 points, at 1,813.34.
