Doha: The registration process for Phase 1 of the 2020-21 winter camping season will begin today at 9 am. The application can be made through the website of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) or the Ministry’s ‘Aoun’ mobile phone application.
The applications will be received for Phase 1 camping in Al Shamal, Al Ghashamiyah, Sealine, Ras Matbakh, Arida, Zekrit, Al Nqian, Al Kharara, Ashiraj, Al Sariyah, and Umm Al Maa; the MME said in a tweet yesterday. The Ministry also released details of charges to be paid for camping. Applicants will also have to pay QR10,000 as security, which will be refunded after the camping season.
The regular charges, which have been imposed for the first time, in Al Shamal, Al Ghashamiyah, and Al Naqiyan are pegged at QR3,000. Similarly, campers interested in Rash Matbakh, Arida, Zekrit, Sealine, Ashiraj, and Umm Al Maa will have to pay QR10,000 in charges. The camping period in the areas mentioned above for Phase 1 will be from October 13 to March 28, 2021.
Meanwhile, the registration for Phase 2 will begin on October 14 for camping in Al Reem Reserve, Al Marona, Al Mazrouha, Umm Al Aafa’i, Al Hasham, Abu Zahlof, Al Zubara, Al Udaid, Al Khuraij South, and Bu Samra.
The applicants will have to pay QR3,000 for camping in Al Mazrouha, Umm Al Aafa’i, and Al Hasham. However, those who want to camp in Al Reem Reserve, Al Marona, Abu Zahlof, Al Zubara, Al Udaid, Al Khuraij South, and Bu Samra will have to pay QR10,000 as charges in addition to QR10,000 refundable security money. Camping season for Phase 2 will run from October 16 to April 4, 2021.
Also, the registration for Phase 3 camping will begin on October 18 for camping in Rawdat Rashed, Rawdat Aisha, Al Khor, Al Waab, Imgaitna, Al Ghariyah, Al Mufair, Ras Al Nouf, Al Otouryah, Al Sane’ah, and Al Rees West.
Phase 3 applicants will be charged QR3,000 for camping in Rawdat Rashed, Rawdat Aisha, Al Khor, Al Waab, Imgaitna, Otouryah, Al Sane’ah, and Al Rees West. At the same time, campers who register for Al Ghariyah, Al Mufair, Ras Al Nouf will have to pay QR10,000 as charges in addition to the refundable security money. Camping season for Phase 3 will begin on October 20 and conclude on April 8, 2021.
The MME also noted that applicants should be Qatari citizens aged 25 or above, adding that campers should adhere strictly to camping terms and conditions and follow environmental protection laws.
