Doha: Fishing nets were confiscated by the Marine Protection Department near the island of Al-Alia due to violations.
In several photos shared on social media, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) called on all fishermen to abide by the environmental laws and regulations in Qatar.
It also reminded not to fish or use fishing nets in prohibited areas near islands or artificial reefs.
"Lets collaborate together to protect and sustain the environment, for us and for future generations," said the Ministry.
