DOHA: Students assaulting invigilators or examiners inside or outside the school premises will be barred from continuing studies in any school in the country, according to the new assessment policy for Independent schools issued  by the Minister of Education and Higher Education
H E Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi yesterday.
In such incidents, the student will be immediately dismissed from the school and his examination results will be cancelled. If a student brings another person to the school to write the examination on his behalf the former’s results for that academic year will be cancelled and he will be barred from attending the school the next year, local Arabic daily Al Raya reported yesterday.
If the one who acts as the proxy is also a student, he will be barred from attending school for two years continuously. If a student attempted cheating in examination or helped other students taking exams or violated the exam rules, his results in the subject concerned will be cancelled and he will be prevented from taking repeat tests.
The new assessment policy will be enforced starting from the current academic year.
As per the new rules, a   student will be prevented from taking a test in the second semester in a subject if he has not taken the first semester examination. This rule will apply even if he was absent for  genuine reasons.
Blind students will have separate examinations and they will be exempted from answering questions which require drawings such as maps and he will be given 100 percent marks in that subject.
