Doha: Second Indian repatriation flight from Doha to Thiruvananthapuram that was scheduled for May 10 has been rescheduled to tomorrow, May 12, said the Indian Embassy in Qatar.
The flight IX 374 will take off from Doha at 4:30pm local time arriving in Thiruvananthapuram at 00:40 am-midnight, wrote the Indian Embassy in Qatar on its social media.
A senior Indian embassy official had mentioned that the cancelation of the earlier flight was due to technical reasons. The Air India Express flight was expected to carry around 180 passengers to Thiruvananthapuram who will have to reconfirm with the embassy. The embassy added that those with exit permit issues will not be cleared for boarding.
The embassy also discouraged residents from believing or spreading damaging rumours. It wrote in a tweet that "some media channels are making the baseless claim that IX374 scheduled from Doha to T'puram on 10 May was cancelled because of differences over landing and handling charges. Nothing could be further from the truth. Please don't encourage such damaging rumours."
