Doha: Air freight customs successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of Captagon tablets into the country.
On Twitter, Qatar Customs stated that the contraband was discovered inside a consignment of small tables.
On inspection, 34,990 Captagon tablets were found hidden inside the tables.
The authority has been issuing continuous warning against carrying illegal substances into the country.
Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
