Doha, Qatar: With less than a month left, visitors are invited to seize the opportunity to explore Qatar National Library’s captivating exhibition celebrating Morocco’s centuries-old tradition of book production as part of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture.

The exhibition, From Material to Market: The Art of Book-Making in Morocco, offers unique insights into the intricate craftsmanship behind Moroccan manuscripts, calligraphy, and bookbinding techniques—many of which have remained unchanged for nearly a thousand years.

Showcasing rare manuscripts, perfumed inks, and historic bookbinding materials, the exhibition has drawn art and history enthusiasts eager to uncover Morocco’s scholarly legacy. The exhibition also features exclusive contemporary works by Qatari artists who reinterpret Morocco’s book-making traditions through digital art and textile-inspired pieces.

Head of Collection Access at Qatar National Library,  Maryam Almutawa said, “As we near the close of the exhibition, we invite visitors to immerse themselves in the artistry and cultural significance of Moroccan book production. This exhibition both highlights the craftsmanship and rich traditions of Morocco and underscores the power of art to connect cultures, foster understanding, and inspire creative dialogues.”

Don’t miss your chance to experience Morocco’s artistic and literary heritage firsthand—the exhibition closes on April 26, 2025.
