Real estate trading in Qatar has crossed QR1bn during the last month. According to the weekly real estate data from the Ministry of Justice, the real estate transactions during the four weeks of March reached over QR1.3bn.
The momentum in the real estate sector is growing gradually in the country. With a consistent fall in the cases of COVID-19 in the country, the economic activities have returned to normal. The impact of optimism is now visible in the country’s real estate sector, which is now abuzz with deal making activity.
During the week ended March 27- 31, real estate transactions worth QR398m were signed. Al Rayyan Municipality came at top in terms of value and number of transactions as deals worth QR184m were signed in 34 transactions during the week, according to the Ministry of Justice data.
A week before, during March 20-24, real estate transactions worth 307m were signed in the country. Doha Municipality came at the top in terms of real estate activities. Real estate deals worth QR96m were signed in 17 transactions in Doha Municipality. Real estate deals worth QR382m were signed during the week March 13-17. Al Rayyan claimed the top spot in terms of real estate deals during this week with as it witnessed QR111m transactions in 24 deals.
During the week March 6-10, total real estate transactions worth QR237m were recorded in the country. Doha Municipality witnessed highest number of deals as total deals worth QR89m were recorded in 20 transactions in the municipality. In the previous week, February 27- March 3, real estate deals worth QR339m were registered.
The real estate sector has performed well in the first two month of this year. The volume of real estate transactions during February amounted to QR1.7bn, recording a rise of 5.3 percent compared to previous month.
The volume of real estate transactions in January this year reached QR1.6bn, according to the data from the Ministry of Justice. Despite the challenging situation created by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic last year, the real estate sector saw deals worth over QR25bn in 2021 in 5,374 transactions. The number of real estate transactions was up by 5 percent in 2021 compared to 5,116 transactions 2020.
