Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has withdrawn from the market some poultry products, which were supplied by a local farm in the north of Qatar.
The Director of the Municipality issued an administrative decision to withdraw some products of Athba farm after finding that they did not meet the specifications.
In response to the withdrawal of products, Athba issued a statement saying that the incident happened due to a human error and one of the coolers, in which the product was stored, was not working and that led to this problem. The circular said that the issue was limited to only the non-conforming products and not all products.
The Ministry said on its social media accounts that the competent regulatory bodies had collected some samples of the company's poultry products and sent them to specialized laboratories for test.
The ministry confirmed that following precautionary measures taken by the ministry's competent departments, the test results of "Athba" chicken products (450 grams) showed that they did not conform to the standard specifications and the ministry withdrew the product from the market.
The company said in the statement that the farm is working at full production capacity and all products are available in the market without any problem.
The ministry confirmed its continued efforts to monitor and control any violations related to the health and safety of consumers, and that it will not be negligent in taking all necessary measures for the maintenance of public health.
