Doha: The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) has announced yesterday that Denis Oswald (President of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) and the International Rowing Federation (FISA) will speak at Securing Sport 2013, the leading international sport security and integrity conference.
With over 30 years experience, including 20 years as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Denis is one of the leading administrators in the world of sport having held a number of positions at the forefront of national and international sporting organisations.
Author of numerous publications in sports law, Denis has paid particular interest to the areas of doping and sports associations during his career and has recently held senior positions on the Executive Board of IOC, Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES).
Denis also has considerable major event experience as President of FISA and recently chaired the Co-ordination Commission for the 2004 Athens and 2012 London Olympic Games.
As part of the ICSS’s mission to share knowledge and best practice in safety, security and integrity in sport, Oswald will speak on the panel entitled “The Role of Sport – Advancing the International Community to Safeguard the Future” and will discuss the integrity of sport and the importance of using sport within international policy. Mr. Oswald will be joined on the panel by Hein Verbruggen (President of SportAccord) and other leading experts from the world of sport and beyond.
In addition to Oswald, the ICSS has also announced yesterday that Gérard Houllier OBE (Head of Global Soccer, Red Bull), John Amaechi OBE (Managing Director, Amaechi Performance Systems) and Bill Bock (General Counsel, USADA) will speak at Securing Sport 2013.
The conference will take place on March 18 and 19 in Doha.
