Doha: Doha Forum, a global platform for dialogue, and the US/Middle East Project (US/MEP), a policy institute that works towards advancing Israeli-Palestinian peace, will organise a virtual session titled 'Palestine/Israel and the Middle East region: Will the combination of normalization with occupation nurture peace or escalate conflict?'.

The zoom webinar will be held this Thursday, November 12, at 5:30pm Doha time (9:30 EST) and requires registration. To register, click here

With the recent normalisation agreements between the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan on one hand and Israel on the other capturing international attention, four international speakers at the Doha Forum will answer if these agreements will lead to peace in the region? And how it will help the Palestinians?

To be moderated by President of the US/MEP and former Israeli government adviser Daniel Levy, the session will feature four prominent speakers.

The session will feature member of the Executive Committee, Palestine Liberation Organisation and Palestinian Central Council Hanan Ashrawi; Senior Fellow and Director of the Middle East Security Program at CNAS Ilan Goldenberg; Associate Professor of international conflict resolution at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies Ibrahim Fraihat; Internationally syndicate Political columnist and book author Rami Khouri and former director of the Middle East and North Africa division of Human Rights Watch Sarah Whitson.

The agenda for the webinar will be Palestinian-Israeli dynamics in the face of normalisation with occupation, will normalisation strengthen the Israeli pro-occupation camp? and will normalisation likely further prospects for the existing peace process and the two-state paradigm?

“Join us and ask your questions. What outcomes will the current normalization wave lead to?,” Doha Forum tweeted.
