Doha: The third season of Torba Farmers Market will open next week at the ceremonial court in Qatar Foundation.
The Qatari-founded initiative will be opened on November 16 and for this season it will be only on Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm.
The market brings together vendors and thousands of community members from around the country, supporting local food producers and agriculture.
Offering a wide range of products including freshly-baked goods, fruits, vegetables, homemade preserves, syrups, and handicrafts, the market is a hit among the community.
A new category to support the home growers - those who love to grow or tend to small farms - has been added this season - only condition being that the produce should be straight from the home.
Torba Junior, an initiative for kids (for 5-12-year-old) to practice their entrepreneurial skills, will also be opened the same day. At the market, five Torba Junior booths are set up for mini vendors.
