One death and 206 Covid-19 cases reported in Qatar on Oct 9

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 206 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 232 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 124,559. 

Out of the 206 new cases, 191 are community cases and 15 from travelers returning from abroad.

The Ministry also announced one new death -aged 67 - who was receiving the necessary medical care

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 127,600 and there are 2822 active cases under treatment. So far, 219 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 5347 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 820,368tests. There are 34 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 356.

Four patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 55.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing.

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

- Wearing a face mask.

- Washing hands regularly
