RAMALLAH: The Palestinian cabinet today called on the high contracting parties to the Geneva conventions to hold an urgent meeting and move immediately to halt the Israeli aggression and crimes committed by Israeli forces and settlers militias against the Palestinian people.
During an extraordinary meeting, presided over today by Prime Minster Rami Al Hamadallah, the Palestinian cabinet held the Israeli government fully responsible for the escalation and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers gangs who storm Palestinian areas, close roads, prevent the movement of people outside the borders of cities and villages, humiliate citizens at Israeli checkpoints, demolish martyrs houses and impose mass punishments.
The cabinet stressed that the Israeli government is mistaken in judging the Palestinian president's positions calling for a peaceful political solution by intransigence and the perpetration of crimes, escalation of extremists storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, schemes to Judaize Holy Jerusalem, designs and official policy that provide finance, support and protection to the settlement policy.
The cabinet called on the united nations and all its agencies, Arab states and all world countries to shoulder responsibility and work urgently to provide international protection to the Palestinian people.
It also called on the United Nations Human Rights Council to dispatch an international fact-finding committee to investigate into Israeli crimes, Israeli occupation forces targeting of defencelss citizens and all Israeli violations of the international and humanitarian law and human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories.
