Things to do this weekend in Qatar (May 9-11, 2019)

In honor of the Holy Month of Ramadan, there are many exciting activities taking place out and about Doha. Residents can indulge themselves in events like Ramadan Market and Ramadan Sports Festival. If nothing from the list piques your interest, you can take a ride on the newly opened Doha Metro Red Line.

Ramadan Market at DECC

DECC will be hosting a grand Ramadan Market for the Holy Month of Ramadan. With more than 200 stall from over 25 countries with 15 plus food and beverage options and a fun zone for children, this is a must visit Ramadan Market.

Ramadan Festival at Aspire Park

Aspire Zone Foundation has announced the start of its annual Ramadan Sports Festival. The Festival will feature a raft of events and tournaments with a focus on giving participants an opportunity to improve their overall health.

Aspire Dome will organise walking sessions that will take place before Iftar from 3pm to 5pm and will be led by Aspire Zone trainers. Two sessions will take place during that time lasting 45 minutes each, with the first session starting at 3:15pm.

The other sports activities are football, basketball, volleyball, wall climbing and table tennis for special needs.

The Holy Kaaba Exhibition

Qatar National Library is organising the “Holy Kaaba Exhibition” which is a visual representation of the history of the cube-structured building at the centre of Islam’s most sacred mosque in the city of Makkah - and the most sacred site of Islam.

The exhibit includes more than 50 carefully curated items including photos, works of art, books and manuscripts, offering deeper insights into the history of the Holy Kaaba. Visitors can learn about the stages of its construction and its architectural features and adornment.

Tawar Mall is organising an array of exciting events like storytelling and garangao in the honor of the holy month of Ramadan.

Every weekend Mirqab Mall has activities and events such as prayer mat design, traditional storytelling, falconry and many more for visitors.

Apart from this every evening the mall offers free coffee and dates for iftar and henna art.
