Doha: Belgian Edmilson Junior enjoyed a mesmerising four-goal haul while Brazil international Dudu scored a hat-trick as Al Duhail crushed Al Wakrah 8-1 in their Round-13 encounter yesterday.

All four of Edmilson's goals for the QNB Stars League title-holders came in the first half (2, 10, 16 and 19) . Dudu  added 2 more goals (2, 9) to put the host ahead by a margin of 6-1 at half time.
Mohamed Benyettou scored the only goal for Al Wakrah in the 45+1 before Al Duhail continued to thrash hapless visitors with goals from Almoez Ali (70) and Dudu (71 penalty) to seal a dominant win for the  Red Knights who moved on to 27 points, eight behind leaders Al Sadd.

It was their ninth win of the season.

Following one of the biggest losses in QSL, their eighth defeat this season, Al Wakrah remained on 13 points at the 10th spot in the standings.

The QSL fans were fortunate to see goal fests on consecutive days as the action of the 13th week ended in a flourish after Al Sadd, powered by a four-goal haul by Algerian international Baghdad Bounedjah, blanked Al Kharaitiyat 8-0 on Thursday.

Yesterday, at Al Duhail Stadium, the reigning champions were up by four goals inside 10 minutes and they built on the brilliant start to script a big victory against the Al Wakrah team who had beaten them 1-0 in the first leg.

Al Duhail's Bassam Al Rawi was elated after the big win ans credited coach Sabri Lamouchi's tactics for the team's success.

"Thank God on the victory achieved and we succeeded in controlling the match since its beginning and we scored in the 2nd minute the first goal, and this came after we implemented the coach's instructions. He asked us to put pressure on the ball carrier and not to give Al Wakrah players spaces to move and build attacks," Al Rawi said.

Al Duhail's next opponent will be the high-flying Al sadd and Al Rawi is confident ahead of the high-octane Round-14 clash.

"We are waiting an important match against Al Sadd and thank God the team is ready. God willing we will continue our good performances and our distinguished results in the next round," Al Rawi said.

Elsewhere, Al Arabi continued their excellent form by defeating Al Ahli 1-0 in another QSL clash which took place at Al Arabi Stadium.

Mohammed Salah El Neel netted the winner in the 20th minute as Al Arabi, coached by Heimir Hallgrimsson, registered their fourth successive victory, having beaten Al Kharaitiyat 3-1, Al Sailiya 1-0 and Al Khor 3-0 in Week 10, 11 and 12  respectively.

The Dream Team moved on to 18 points with their fifth victory overall.

Umm Salal defeated Al Khor 1-0 in the third match of the day.

Kayke Rodriguez scored the winner goal by converting a penalty in the 14th minute.
