Doha: Qatar’s World No.1 duo of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan yesterday defeated Italy’s Adrian Carambula and Enrico Rossi 2-1 (16-21, 23-21, 15-10) in their second Pool B match of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals in Sardinia, Italy.
It was Qatari pair's second straight victory in the competition. Earlier in their first match of the tournament, the Tokyo Olympics bronze medallists defeated Russia’s Ilya Leshukov and Konstantin Semenov 2-0 (21-14, 21-8) on Wednesday.
In their next match, Cherif and Tijan will take on the Netherlands duo of Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen today.
