231 Covid-19 cases and 256 recoveries reported in Qatar on Sept 8

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 231 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 256 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 117,497.

Out of the 231 new cases, 220 are community cases and 11 from travellers returning from abroad.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 120,579 and there are 2877 active cases under treatment. So far, 205 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 4288 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 667,936 tests. There are 41 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Four patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 49.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing.
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a face mask.
- Washing hands regularly.
