Doha: Jordan coach Adnan Hamad said his side have to overcome exceptional circumstances but are focused on beating Palestine at Stadium 974 today to ensure they progress to the quarter-finals of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.

The winner of the Group C clash can qualify for the next round depending on if Saudi Arabia fail to get a result against group leaders Morocco.

Jordan, on three points after beating Saudi in their opener, have suffered from a range of injuries leaving the team shorthanded.

“We will fully prepare for the match against Palestine. We will go out with the sole intention of winning; I can promise it to the Jordanian fans,” Hamad said yesterday.

For Palestine, a win could seal a dream last-eight spot. The impressive side held on to claim a vital point against Saudi Arabia, and coach Makram Daboub said he expects a tough match against Jordan but believes his players are motivated to seal a historic spot in the next round.
