DOHA: Fashion lovers were indulged in Qatar’s first Fashion Weekend International (FWI ‘18), the first of its kind event featured top class models and designers at Mondrian Doha.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the globally acclaimed beauty queen walked the ramp wearing a pink and red gown designed by ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra. Astonishing Aishwarya mesmerised the audience with her beauty and charm.
The fashion show showcased designs exclusively by Manish, who is a synonymous with opulent craftsmanship, chic designs and dressing top celebrities around the world. At least 30 male and female models walked the ramp in glitzy designed, mainly wedding attires.
They included gowns and sub continental attires such as saree, gagra or lehenga and choli (longs skirts and blouse).
Actor and reality show star, Karan Tacker was the host at FWI ‘18 fashion show. “A fashion destination is evident here. What is beautiful about fashion is you need to be original, don’t need to compare to any other destination.
“You are who you are, you are glorious and elegant. You blossom at the best of your potential. Going by this evening’s event the positivity is all there,” said Aishwarya addressing a press conference held following the fashion show.
Manish, who has been in Doha earlier for different events, said, “I see the fashion industry getting better here. The way the audience were presented during the show is the first sign of it. I definitely see Doha as a big destination for fashion.”
He also shared his experience about working with Aishwarya for many years and said, “She is beautiful in looks and within.” The event organised by FAB Entertainment, a Qatar based entertainment company also featured stylist Nabila, actress Mahira Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi.
Alfardan Jewellery provided some of its finest collections and glammed Aishwarya and other models at the show. A collection of dazzling sets of jewels were also displayed during the fashion show. Fashionistas also enjoyed a special trunk show by Manish.
He also designed dream bridal gowns and custom made couture for ladies, only at Mondrian Doha’s Bridal Suite. Al Fardan Group, Qatar Airways, Salam, Mondrian Doha and Qatar Tourism Authority were co-partners of FWI’18.
