Doha: The Fire Station announced that the annual open call for the Curator in Residence programme is now open.

This is in collaboration with Years of Culture Qatar-MENASA 2022. In an Instagram post, it said the residency is open to curators from 27 countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. Residency begins from October 17 to January 17, 2023.

The programme provides the curator with a workspace at the Fire Station, and includes interactive sessions with local artists and curators, participation in Open Studio events, public programmes and organising exhibitions during their residency.

Application deadline is on June 18. The Curator in Residence is open to independent and institutional curators of all curatorial and research-based practices.

The residency offers roundtrip ticket and offsite accommodation, 24-hour access to a private furnished workspace, monthly per diem, networking opportunities and interactive sessions with artists and visiting critics, social media coverage, participation in Open Studio events, and public talks and exhibition opportunities.

Currently, there are five Residency Programmes the Fire Station is offering. These are Artist in Residence which is undergoing, Paris Residency, New York Residency, Youth Summer Programme and the Curator in Residence.
