Both teams looked equally strong in the opening quarter, beginning the contest at a steady pace before finishing at 18-18. Al Rayyan then broke away in the second quarter, outscoring Al Wakrah 24-21 before upping the pace in the third quarter in which they scored 25 points against Al Wakrah’s 16.
