Doha: Part of Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street, Al Qalaa Street and Al Busayer Street will be closed for 9 days to complete work on two new major interchanges.
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) is in the final phase of completion works on Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street as part of its Al Rayyan Road Upgrade, Phase One.
Once opened for public traffic use on March 18, 2017, Al Rayyan Al Shafi Interchange and Al Rayyan Al Qalaa Interchange, will establish free flow traffic on a section of Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street, and provide much needed direct access to commercial and residential properties on Al Shafi and Al Qalaa Street.
In order to facilitate critical permanent finishing works, Ashghal has announced that it will temporarily close sections of roads as follows:
• Closure of part of Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street
• Part of Al Qalaa Street
• Part of Al Busayer Street (at the junction of Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street)
The closure will start on March 9, 2017 and will last for 9 days in co-ordination with the Traffic Police Department.
Access towards Doha and Bani Hajer will be available via Al Wajbah Street, Al Hamd Street, Al Jassasiya Street, Al Shafi Street, and the Equestrian Roundabout. Al Rayyan Municipality offices will be accessible via Al Shaqab Street as shown on the attached map.
The Public Works Authority urged all road users to abide by the speed limit of 50 kph along the diversion routes, and follow newly installed traffic road signs to ensure their safety.
Ashghal has increased manpower and resources to expedite works in delivering this significant portion of the Al Rayyan Road Upgrade, Project One. Final completion of the project which comprises three interchanges, dedicated pedestrian and cycle paths as well as the provision of upgraded utilities is scheduled for Q3 2017.
