DOHA/DUBAI: Sales of Kia Motors in the UAE have witness a remarkable 22 percent growth in 2012 as compared to 2011, and the leading Korean carmaker expects to boost it further with the launch of its new models due in 2013, a press statement said yesterday.
According to Mohammed Khader (pictured), President of Al Majid Motors-Kia UAE, though the country’s automotive sector is facing fierce competition, Kia through the launch of its new models and expansion of dealer network, would be able to enhance its market share.
He said: “To attract those who admire distinctive and reliable products, Kia is starting four-week long road shows namely ‘Kia On Tour’ in the UAE. The event will give a chance to all the UAE residents to test drive the new vehicles and see and feel their superiority. I am sure the new sleeker and aesthetically beautiful Kia cars featuring LED front, rear lighting and a chrome-trimmed belt line along with various features will wow motor enthusiasts.”
During the road shows — open to the public — residents will get an opportunity to meet Kia team, check and experience the vehicle. Mohammed Khader said the motor company is optimistic about newly launched Cerato’s acceptance in the UAE. Al Majid Motors, has a number of showrooms, service and storage facilities and chain of spare parts outlets to accommodate the growing demand.
Kia road shows will kick start from March 8 at Al Qasba, Sharjah; March 15 at Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai; March 29 at Bawadi Mall, Al Ain; and April 5 at Al Manar Mall, Ras Al Khaimah where 13 Kia vehicles will be showcased. All road shows will take place between 3pm and 10pm. The Peninsula
