Saudi Arabia's pavilion at the ongoing LEAP 2023 conference in Riyadh has attracted many visitors because of its special host: an interactive robot that can speak various Saudi dialects.

Sara, the first Saudi robot works at the global tech conference to answer inquiries and interact with attendees. It has a camera operating with artificial intelligence, which can recognize the distance of people standing in front of it. It will start a conversation when a visitor says “Hello Sara”.

Manufactured in collaboration between Saudi Digital and the Qss Company, Sara dons a hijab (Muslim headscarf). When asked what she's wearing, she replied in colloquial Saudi dialect saying she wears traditional Saudi outfits that reflect the country’s heritage and culture.

Sara also performs popular dance moves. When asked about her age, she refused to reveal it and jokingly said: "How about you change the question." But she was quick to say that her favorite foods are Marqooq and Masabib.

Qatar, through MoCIT's Digital Incubation Center, is participating in the LEAP 23 conference being organized by the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology which runs until February 9. More than 900 local and international technology companies and 400 start-ups are taking part in this international tech event, along with over 720 speakers from 50 countries.
