‘Broken Wings’ musical set
‘Broken Wings’, is a West End Musical composed by Dana Al Fardan, a notable Qatari female musician, composer, songwriter and artist.
The ‘Broken Wings’ cast will be led by co-writer Nadim Naaman as Gibran, Hanna Qureshi as Selma, and Soophia Foroughi (Spamalot) as Mother. It is directed by Bronagh Lagan and features orchestrations and musical direction by Joe Davison. And will be performed by the world-renowned Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra.
‘Broken Wings’ is a piece of Arab-influenced contemporary music written to showcase the rich Arab literature and philosophy by Gibran Khalil Gibran, allowing international audience access to the complexity and beauty of Arab art.

European Jazz Festival
This is the last weekend for music lovers to get a chance to be part of the 6th European Jazz Festival that features performances from 13 countries this year Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Greece, Switzerland, Romania, France, Germany and Spain.

FINA World Cup
Qatar Swimming Association will organise the FINA Swimming World Cup 2019 Doha, which will host the world’s best swimmers.
The competition, will be the last meet of the FINA Swimming World Cup 2019 series, involving seven cities. It will be the eighth consecutive year for Doha to host a FINA Swimming World Cup event.
Exciting races are on the cards in Doha, as it will showcase the overall winners who will receive $150,000.

Cultural Diversity Festival
Katara will host folkloric shows and traditional arts as part of the 4th Cultural Diversity Festival every weekend.
The festival features an array of cultural performances from different nations around the world and aims to act as bridge between cultures and provide a multicultural harmonious environment.
The fourth edition features folkloric bands from 14 countries: Qatar, Turkey, Portugal, Philippines, Mexico, Hungary, Singapore, Poland, Korea, Taiwan, Sweden, Mozambique, Nigeria and Lithuania.
The festival is free for everyone.

2019 Gaming Challenge

Katara Triathlon 2019
Qatar will be hosting the first Traithlon at Katara this weekend. The event will have sprint distance for individuals and teams, as well as a youth aquathlon race. The youth Aquathlon race are for ages from 7-15, there will be a sprint which will include a 750 metre swim, a 20km cycle race followed by a 5 km run. There will also be a sprint team relay.
The first event of Qatar National Triathlon Series will see competitions being held at Dukkhan in December, Doha and The Pearl.

KAWS’ Exhibition
The first Middle East museum exhibition of American contemporary artist Brian Donnelly, more famously known as KAWS, is on display at Doha Fire Station.
Dubbed KAWS: He Eats Alone, this show explores KAWS’ career and vast oeuvre which includes paintings, graphic design, small-scale objects, and large-scale sculptures made over the past 20 years.
Admission to the exhibition is QR25 for Qataris, residents and students and QR50 for adults (visitors).
Admission is free for children under 16, Culture Pass Plus and Culture Pass Family Members, and visitors with disabilities.

Qatar, India and the Gulf Exhibition
This exhibition is a part of the Qatar India 2019 Year of Culture, which examines the connections between historical India, Qatar and the Gulf—from shared cultures to shared empires—over the course of 4,600 years. The exhibition reveals how this ancient and enduring relationship has influenced their history, culture and society in profound and surprising ways.
This is an open public exhibition; no registration is required.

‘The State of You’ Exhibition
Qatari multidisciplinary designer Aisha Nasser Al Sowaidi explores the potent power of scents to evoke memories and trigger emotions in her unique olfactory installation “The State of You”.
The installation comprises seven units shaped like small domes made of concrete and gypsum bearing traditional patterns. Each of the dome emits a certain scent when a visitor stands beneath it.

Friday Souq
A new market to sell produce from local farms has opened at Oxygen Park's Senses Garden in Education City.
Visitors to the family-friendly market can find something to suit all tastes, including a diverse range of stalls selling food, clothes, handmade products and other goods, as well as a children’s playground and an array of activities including painting, coloring, and henna. The Friday Souq also has a kids’ care facility where parents can leave their children to play while they shop.

Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra will be presenting the Brahms First and Third Symphony, it will be conducted by Gianluigi Gelmetti.

Qatar’s Best Talents
Mall of Qatar’s ‘Qatar’s Best Talents’ takes place every Friday at the Oasis stage. Singing duets, hip-hop performances, folk dances and piano recitals are some of the excellent enter-tainment mix to be showcased as part of the programme.
‘Qatar’s Best Talents’, in their third season, showcases up to 10 performances in dancing, singing, and other performing arts selected by MoQ.

Exhibition of Indian gems and jewelry
More than 100 magnificent pieces of gems, jewelry, works on paper and photography are on display at an exhibition dubbed “Set in Stone: Gems and Jewels from Royal Indian Courts” at MIA as part of Qatar-India 2019 Year of Culture.
The most impressive object on display is known as the ‘Clive flask’, a 17th century jewel-encrusted jade flask that once belonged to Robert Clive, 1st Baron Clive of Plassey (1725- 1774). This object- remarkable for both its beauty and provenance – is being displayed in Doha for the first time.
Another highlight is the magnificent necklace from Varanasi: composed of seventeen diamonds suspended with gold-collared emeralds surmounted by baroque pearls, this necklace showcases the continued opulence of 19th century Maharajas.

Asian Night Market 2019
The DC Asian Night Market 2019 is all about celebrating cultural diversity through cuisine.
More than 30 Asian restaurants offering Korean, Filipino, Thai, Indian, Pakistani, Turkish and Arabic specialties are set-up at the market.
In addition, various community groups including choirs, theater groups, dance crews and singers will provide entertainment. An Acoustic Night will be part of the regular weekend programme.
There will be a photo booth to serve as souvenir of event visitors as well as free cupcake making for children aged five to 12 to be hosted by WASAHQ Culinary Arts, in addition to henna and face painting.
Entry to the market is free of charge.
