Silk Road Exhibition contributed to economic growth

After running successfully for the past two days, The Silk Road Exhibition & One Belt, One Road Conference ended on successful note yesterday. One of the main highlights of the third day was honouring of exhibitors for their active participation in the exhibition. 

Eizeldin Abdelrahman, Executive Director of Al Sharq Media Management and Executive Director of the Silk Road Exhibition praised said that “We, in Dar Al Sharq, strive to promote Qatar’s projects and future vision by organising exhibitions and conferences that attract investments between Qatar and other countries.”

He also thanked the Ministry of Transport and Communications for its support, adding that the participation in the exhibition was good and a number of agreements were signed during the exhibition.

Jack Saba, General Manager of Public Affairs at Sasol and a representative of the Accessible Qatar’ initiative, honoured the most accessible pavilions for persons with disabilities.

Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani, member of the Board of International Relations, Qatar International Center for Documentation and Arbitration said that the Silk Road Exhibition & One Belt, One Road Conference has contributed in supporting the national economy and pushing it to the ranks of the developed economies.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the exhibition, he pointed out that the Qatar is among countries that are signatory to the Silk Road Agreement.

 “The exhibition witnessed huge participation of companies, whether local or regional and global, which contributed to the exchange of knowledge in this vital sector,” he said

Experts discussed many important issues such as maritime logistics, and security and safety in supply chain and logistics.

Afshin Samadi from Lynn Container pavilion said that the exhibition provided many opportunities to meet with other companies in the field of shipping and to learn from their experiences.

Lynn Container is based in China and has an agent in Doha and it has been in the Qatari market for more than two years ago.

“Our participation in the exhibition comes from our view of the Qatari market as an important and promising market which has a lot of opportunities and such opportunities will continue even beyond the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” he said.

In response to a question on whether the company has any intention to expand in Qatar, he said that it depends on the market and the opportunities it offers, and therefore the opportunities in the future will determine its expansion.
