Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) reported that thunderstorms were observed in the eastern coast of the country.
"The continuing impact of thunderstorms on the eastern coast of the country, please be careful because of the strong winds that may accompany them, which lead to dust, low visibility, and occasional hail," QMD stated.
“Radar images showed continued rain in Al Rayyan, Al Hilal, Mesaimeer and Ain Khalid,” QMD said.
In a statement, QMD also said: "Marine warning expected to begin from Thursday evening until Saturday with northwesterly wind ranging in speed between 15-25 KT gusting to more than 30 KT at places at times with wave height ranging between 4-8ft reaching 10 at times."
Today, the minimum and maximum temperature will vary between 31 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius, respectively. Sea heights for today also varies between 1-2 ft.
To ensure safety during this weather condition, QMD listed the following tips:
1. Move between tracks slowly
2. Reduce speed
3. Keep a safe distance
4. Turn on headlights
5. Stay away from any distractions (such as using mobile phones while driving)
6. Avoid submerged roads
