Doha: Hamad General Hospital's Orthopedic Surgery Department will commence new evening clinics at the Bone and Joint Center on Sunday 7 May 2023.
The department will offer appointments from 3pm to 7pm, Sunday to Wednesday, to cater to the growing demand for orthopedic care in Qatar.
These new clinics will provide additional capacity to care for patients and reduce wait times for appointments and comes following the start of evening clinics at the Ambulatory Care Center on 1 May for ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, urology, and audiology.
The Bone and Joint Center will run 22 new evening clinics, with four assigned as "Screening Clinics" to accommodate fractures and general orthopedic cases.
The clinics will cover all subspecialties in the orthopedic service, including spine, hip, knee, shoulder and elbow, hand, orthopedic oncology, pediatric orthopedic, foot and ankle, and trauma.
The evening clinics will mainly serve new patients, post-operative cases, post-MRI patients, fracture, and urgent cases. Follow-up appointments will not be accepted in the evening and will only be scheduled in the morning.
The establishment of these new evening clinics reflects the department's commitment to providing quality orthopedic care to patients in Qatar. This initiative will reduce waiting times, improve patient satisfaction, and enable patients to attend appointments at more convenient times.
