Doha, Qatar: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will actively participate in Qatar’s National Major Incident Exercise, ‘Al Watan’ On Tuesday (November 7, 2023), from 8am to midnight.
The simulation will involve the collaboration and coordinated activation of the following healthcare facilities: Hamad General Hospital, Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital, Al Khor Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital, Ministry of Public Health, Sidra and Primary Health Care Cooperation.
Assistant Executive Director at HMC’s Ambulance Service Saleh al Meqareh said “The primary objective of the exercise is to assess the effectiveness of our existing emergency protocols, promote stronger cooperation among different agencies and pinpoint areas for improvement within our response mechanisms.
We are committed to enhancing our preparedness for any potential major incidents in the future as it enables us to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients during challenging situations.”
Saleh went on to assure the community that “Ensuring patient safety remains our utmost priority throughout this simulation. Meticulous planning and preparation have gone into ensuring that patient care will not be compromised at any point during the exercise. Anyone who requires access to any of HMC’s services on Tuesday 7 November 2023, whether that be for planned appointments or emergency care, should do so as normal.”
Al Watan is a multi-agency exercise spanning various sectors, taking place over three days, from November 6 to 8, 2023. The health sector’s active participation will only be on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
