Scattered cloud development with chances of thundery rain: QMD

Doha: On its weather report for the weekend, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said that hazy to misty conditions will prevail at places at first followed by hot daytime with some clouds. Mild nights are expected for both days and a chance of scattered rain at some places on Saturday. 

On Twitter, QMD also stated that the amount of cloud formation in the country's atmosphere will increase in the beginning of next week.

"According to the latest numerical forecasts, chances of scattered rain will begin on Saturday where the chances is expected to improve on Sunday and Monday, in which may turn to thundery rain in some areas accompanied by strong winds which lead to blowing dust and a decrease in visibility at times," QMD said on Twitter.

In the same report, marine warning is also expected on Sunday due to a chance of thundery rain accompanied by strong winds and high waves.

QMD urged all citizens and residents to be careful and avoid all marine activities.

The minimum and maximum temperature for the next two days will vary between 25 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius, respectively.

During the weekend, the sea heights will vary mainly between 1-2 ft rising to 3ft at times inshore and 2-4ft rising to 5ft at times offshore.

On Friday, the wind is expected to blow southeasterly to easterly at 5-15 KT inshore, gusting to 18 KT at times, offshore. 

On Saturday, the wind is expected to blow mainly easterly at 5-15 KT inshore, gusting to 18 KT at times, offshore. 

Visibility on both days will vary between 4-8 kilometres or 3 kilometres or less at places at first inshore.
