Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 249 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 266 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 130,680.
Out of the 249 new cases, 211 are community cases and 38 from travellers returning from abroad.
So far, 232 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
6029 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (12,064 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,001,488 tests.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 133,619 and there are 2,707 active cases under treatment.
There are 30 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital 304.
Four patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 40.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
