Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 227 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 242 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 116,780. MoPH also reported one death of a 71-year-old due to the coronavirus.
Out of the 227 new cases, 210 are community cases and 17 from travelers returning from abroad
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 119,864 and there are 2882 active cases under treatment. So far, 202 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
Ministry conducted 4725 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 654,973 tests. There are 37 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.
Three patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 51.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing.
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a face mask.
- Washing hands regularly.
