Doha: Qatar National Library will be temporarily closed for the grand ceremony marking its official inauguration.
The library on its twitter account announced that it will be temporarily closed from April 13 to April 16 (Friday to Monday) to facilitate the official inauguration on April 17.
The library will open to the public on Tuesday at 9am and invites residents to attend exhibition, lectures and panel discussions on various topics.
The library for its inauguration will hold Qatar-German exhibition that will give a detailed look at the history of Arabic and German fairy and folk tales.
QNL will host “Truth Matters: The Era of Fake News,” an inaugural panel discussion on how so-called “fake news” is being used in the current political climate to manipulate political agendas and what should be done about it.
QNL’s ‘Book Club for the Blind’, a project that provides social opportunities and promotes equal access to the resources and services of the library, will also be launched by the President of the World Blind Union, Dr. Fredrick K. Schroeder, on April 17.
The library will also organise a 'Stargazing at the Library' event for those interested in astronomy.
