Cairo: The Arab League announced that an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of the Arab foreign ministers will be held on Sunday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.
In a press statement, Vice Secretary General of the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Ben Helli said the meeting is at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to condemn the Iranian violations of sanctity of the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and Consulate in Mashhad as well as the Iranian interventions in the internal affairs of the Arab countries.
Ben Helli said that the League received an official note from the Saudi Permanent delegation requesting the Arab League to convene this meeting.
