Doha, Qatar: Loyola International School marked a momentous milestone with its 10th Annual Day celebrations, marking a decade of holistic education in Qatar. Themed “Avishkar”—meaning “Invention” or “Discovery” in Sanskrit—the event highlighted the school’s remarkable journey and its visionary aspirations for the future.
Held across three sessions at the Ladies Sports Hall on the 29th and 30th of November 2024, it brought together students, parents, and dignitaries. The first session transported the audience to 2050 through a time machine. Students explored what the future holds, including eco-friendly technologies, robotics, and advancements in infrastructure, education and medicine.
Chief Guest and the Chief Patron, Sheikh Ahmed Hamad A.A. Al Thani commended the school for its decade of growth, community, and learning. Reflecting on Loyola’s journey, he acknowledged the teachers, parents, and students who created a nurturing environment, and he looked forward to a bright future where each individual thrives and becomes their best self.
Guest of Honor Srinivas Oruganti (President, Science India Forum – Qatar) congratulated the school on its exceptional commitment to holistic education and encouraged students to be inquisitive and strive for scientific innovation
The second session celebrated young changemakers who exemplify values like kindness, courage, generosity, innovation, and leadership. Students portrayed inspiring figures such as Orion Jean, Bilal Rajan, Param Jaggi, Akrit Jaswal, Babar Ali and Sparsh Shah. These performances, interspersed with vibrant dances, highlighted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Chief Guest- Lt. Col. Eng. Ali bin Abdulla bin Ali Al Suwaidi (Ministry of Interior, Qatar), lauded the school’s multicultural approach, which fosters unity and diversity among students from different nationalities, preparing them for a globalized world.
The third session, themed Zenith: Conquer the Heights, featured a storyline of unmotivated children traveling to 2050, witnessing advancements like eco-friendly cities and futuristic technologies. Inspired, they returned with renewed purpose to strive for a better future.
The play emphasised the importance of dreaming big, embracing change, and working hard for a brighter tomorrow. Chief Guest Dr. Ram Shankar commended the school’s dedication to all-round development and shared insights on the National Education Policy (NEP).
The spectacular event was a culmination of weeks of meticulous planning and tireless efforts by the teachers, students, and support staff.
