United Challengers and Transfast Legends will clash for the Division B title, while the Division C final at the popular Qatar Airways T20 Cricket Tournament pits QIECO against Nihal XI.

Both the finals will take place today.Farhan  turned  in  an  out-standing all-round display (50 not out off 37 deliveries and three for 18) to power United Challengers to an easy 38-run triumph over Hadico in one Division B semi-final  clash  at  the  West  Bay  Grounds.

Anees (three for 20) and Subin Babu (37 off 32 balls) were the chief performers for Transfast Legends, who edged Doha Bank by 13 runs in the other last four stage clash. Farhan’s half-century with a six and six boundaries laid the base for his team’s 151 for nine.

Riyaz hit one six and five fours to get 35 off 25 balls to take United Challengers to a fighting position, despite Asif’s four for 15 and two for 22 by Ali Murtaza. Hadico were bundled out for 113 with three balls to spare when Farhan  returned  to  grab  three  wickets  for  just  19  runs.

Satish  picked two for 18.The other Division B clash was more  entertaining.  Transfast  Legends, batting first against Doha Bank,  got  137  for  eight  on  the  board with Subin Babu emerging as the top-scorer (37 with one six and three fours). Nisala earned the bowling honours with three for 31.

Chamara Pereira tried to keep the bank men into contention as he fired two sixes and three fours in his 30-ball 38. But other players could not offer the needed support to him. Anees excelled with the ball, nailing three wickets for 20.

Division C semis

QIECO scripted a fine seven-run victory to upset Desert Lions, the only  unbeaten  team  in  the  division till now, to book a spot in  the  final.  Srikanth  (47  in  36  balls) and Moin (two for 20) came with  nice  individual  perform-ances for the winners, who made 141 for seven while batting first.

Besides Srikanth, Salman hit 25 in 26 balls to put the pressure on the rivals. Rohan Dhaigude and Asim bowled well to take two wickets each. During the chase, Naveen  and  Dhaigude  hit  the  bulk of runs. Naveen’s 45 had one six   and   three   fours,   while   Dhaigude  hit  five  fours  in  his  knock.  Firoz  dominated  the  semi-finals  of  the  Division  C  as  he  blasted fives sixes and one four in his rampaging 56 off just 30 balls,  spurring  Nihal  XI  to  a  thrilling   four-wicket   victory   against  Qatar  Foundation  with  seven balls to spare. All-rounder  Zia  and  Rashid  shared four wickets to threaten Nihal XI.

But the knocks by Firoz and Anjum changed the course of the  match.  Earlier,  Zia  cracked  eight fours in his 71 in 44 balls and Denzil  added  33  off  27  balls  to  guide  Qatar  Foundation  to  a  healthy-looking 166 in 20 overs.
