Doha: Blueair, a leading player in the premium category of air purifiers, with a strong foothold in 60 markets worldwide, is expanding its presence in the Qatari market. The air purification company started in Stockholm in 1996 with the vision of developing the world’s best air purifier.
In Qatar, Blueair is represented by Video Home & Electronic Centre, the owners of the renowned Jumbo Electronic Stores, which has been a trusted partner of Blueair in Qatar for two years, and offers exceptional customer service accompanied by specialised knowledge in the brand.
Today, the company is committed to creating healthier indoor environments for families and workplaces across the world.
In 2016, Unilever acquired Blueair and ever since, it has continued to operate as an independent brand within the Unilever family with headquarters in Stockholm. At the time of the acquisition, the company had sales of over QR400m annually.
During the first six months of the year, the company has witnessed a double digit increase in global sales. Blueair is well-rooted in the US and China markets, and over the past year has sought to expand its global footprint in the UK, EU, and Middle East.
With more people spending more time at home, this year especially, people are demanding fresh and clean air in their homes.
Indoor air is usually up to five times more contaminated than outside, and in turn, creates a health hazard as we spend in excess of 90 percent of our day inside. Indoor air can contain more than 900 distinct chemicals in vaporous form as well as airborne particles as small as 2.5 micrometres (PM2.5) to 1.0 micrometres (PM1.0). Most indoor air contaminants originate from combustion items, exhaust particles, diesel particles, and natural elements such as mold, dust, animal allergens, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
The good news is that indoor pollutants can easily be removed. Blueair’s technology is so advanced that it is claimed that it can purify air in your home in only 20 minutes to mimic the freshness of the Swedish peaks’ and Stockholm’s archipelago’s air.
Blueair’s proprietary HEPASilent filtration technology, which combines both electrostatic and mechanical filtration of particles, removes at least 99.97 percent of all airborne particles as small as 0.1 micron in size. This includes pollen, smoke, dust, mould, spores, bacteria, viruses, pet allergens and microplastics.
The HEPASilent filtration technology enables both high air flow rate and high filtration efficiency (and therefore a high CADR , Clean Air Delivery Rate).
By combining the two filtration technologies Blueair units ensure that more air is cleaned at a faster rate (higher CADR) with less noise and less energy usage.
Blueair’s HEPASilent technology has been key driver behind Blueair’s success.
