Doha: The Ministry of Culture, represented by Dar Al Watad, participating in the 21st edition of the Amman International Book Fair, which kicked off on Thursday and continues until September 10.
Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, said that the ministry participates in this event by displaying a number of new releases, including Doha Magazine releases.
Expressing the ministry’s keenness to participate in this fair, which he said, is critical because of its importance in disseminating local publications and introducing the role of the Qatari publication houses and their entire premium releases. He pointed out that Dar Al Watad participates in this event along with Qatari publication houses though displaying an array of releases and books.
In addition, Dar Al Watad presents 80 releases, as well as local and external distribution books that contain a multitude of various sets of novels, stories and other releases related to law, in addition to the scientific books, children’s books and other publications of 2022.
Around 400 local and Arab publication houses from 22 countries are participating in the fair which will be followed by a variety of cultural programmes. They will include cultural seminars, poetry evenings, recreational activities and story readings for children and young people, in addition to a cultural programme for this year’s guest of honour, the State of Kuwait.
