As many as 87 public parks are there across Qatar, which were opened by the Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, to encourage sport activities among people.

“From 2010 to 2016 the department developed 40 parks,” a source at the ministry told a local media channel.

“Parks are very important and Qatar has achieved a number of the projects in this regard as the government gives priority to them,” the source added.

The public parks department is coordinating with Public Works Authority (Ashghal) to see the places which are suitable for plantation. The plantation annually produces between 3 to 4 million small trees and seedlings.
