Doha: The 1989 animated Japanese fantasy film Kiki’s Delivery Service will be featured for this week’s Cinema Under the Stars of Doha Film Institute (DFI).

DFI announced this on its social media accounts wherein it said, “Celebrate Eid with us at Heenat Salma Farm! Join us for an amazing heartfelt experience with delicious food for the whole family.”

It will be screened on Thursday, May 5 at 8pm.

Directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the film is based on the children’s fantasy by Eiko Kadono. This is the story of a young witch, named Kiki who is a little green and plenty headstrong, but also resourceful, imaginative, and determined. With her trusty wisp of a talking cat named Jiji by her side she is ready to take on the world, or at least the quaintly European seaside village she’s chosen as her new home.

Ticket options are QR100 per person which include film admission and snacks, and QR150 per child (3 to 12 years old) or QR250 per adult for film admission and dinner. Tickets can be purchased via DFI’s website.

Heenat Salma is an initiative dedicated to holistic methods in agriculture, architecture, and community development. Their dinner menu includes an array of slow-cooked local, Mediterranean and Levantine dishes, all made with their organic farm produce, signature spices, and handpicked aromatic herbs served along with hot and cold beverages.
