Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 255 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 207 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 136,513.
Out of the 255 new cases, 206 are community cases and 49 from travellers returning from abroad.
The Ministry also announced one death - aged 57 years old - who was receiving the necessary medical care.
So far, 239 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 139,256 and there are 2,504 active cases under treatment.
4,625 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (10,271 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,120,706 tests.
There are 40 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 266.
Four patients were admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical attention in intensive care currently to 29.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
