One death and 212 Covid-19 cases in Qatar on Sept 2

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 212 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 216 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 116,111.

The Ministry also announced one new death - aged 84, who was receiving the necessary medical care. 

Out of the 212 new cases, 206 are community cases and 6 from travelers returning from abroad

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 119,206 and there are 2896 active cases under treatment. So far, 199 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 4997 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 639,742 tests. There are 31 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Two patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 60.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

Adherence to physical distancing.

Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

Wearing a face mask.

Washing hands regularly.
